I own a legal Steam copy and use no mods. Re-installing or verifying file integrity also doesn't fix it. My copy is also up-to-date as of writing this.

what isn't working for you?
Were you able to activate the prepare?
Is the prepare greyed out?
Did you launch Plitch and Steam with adminrights?
